Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All of the following data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SQLite). None of it is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

• Journal Entries: The text content you write in your personal journal within the App, including mood selections.
• Prayer Logs: Records of your prayer tracking, including prayer names, times, and completion status.
• Intentions (Nawayah): The spiritual goals and intentions you set within the App.
• App Settings: Your personalized preferences, including notification settings, reading preferences, and onboarding selections.
• Quran Reading Progress: Your Wird schedule, bookmarks, and reading settings.
• Athkar Logs: Your daily supplication tracking progress.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: If you grant permission, we access your device location solely to calculate accurate prayer times based on your geographic position. Location data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
• Device Information: Basic device type and operating system information for app compatibility.

How We Use Your Information

Since all data remains on your device, it is used solely for the following in-app purposes:

• App Functionality: To provide core features including journaling, prayer tracking, Quran reading, and intention setting.
• Prayer Tracking: Gender information is used to make the "excused" prayer status available, respecting that women have specific religious obligations that differ from men's.
• Prayer Time Calculations: Location data is used exclusively to calculate accurate, location-based prayer times on your device.
• Notifications: To send you gentle, behavior-based reminders for prayers, Quran reading, and goals (only if you opt in). Notification messages are generated locally using behavioral patterns without accessing sensitive journal text.

Privacy Note

Local-Only Data Storage

Hamasat currently operates entirely in guest mode:

• On mobile devices: All your data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. Nothing is sent to external servers.
• On web: The web version provides read-only access with limited functionality.
• Quran text and Athkar supplications are stored in local databases bundled with the App and do not require an internet connection.
• Since your data never leaves your device, it is as secure as your device itself. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock for added protection.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third parties. Since all data is stored locally on your device, there is no server-side data to share.

The only network requests the App may make are:

• Prayer Time APIs: To fetch prayer time calculation data based on your location (your location coordinates may be sent to a prayer time calculation service).
• App Updates: Standard app update checks through the app distribution platform.

Your Rights & Data Control

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Access: You can access all your data within the App at any time.
• Correction: You can edit or update your journal entries, settings, and other personal data.
• Deletion: You can delete individual entries within the App or uninstall the App to remove all data completely.
• Opt-Out: You can disable notifications and location access at any time through the App settings or your device settings.

Children's Privacy

Hamasat is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App operates locally, no data is collected by us, but we recommend parental guidance for younger users.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as we introduce new features. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
