Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Hamasat mobile application or related services ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Description of the App

Hamasat is an Islamic journaling and self-reflection app that supports practices such as Muraqaba (contemplative awareness) and Muhasaba (self-accounting). It includes features such as journaling, prayer tracking, Quran reading, athkar (supplications), and intention-setting. The App is designed to operate in guest mode: you may use it without creating an account, and your data is stored locally on your device.

Guest mode

Guest mode: You are not required to sign up or sign in to use the App. All data you create (journal entries, prayer logs, settings, etc.) is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers under the current design.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App (or any part of it) if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

No Religious or Legal Advice

Hamasat is a tool for personal reflection and organization. It does not provide religious rulings (fatwa), legal advice, or professional counseling. Any content or features related to Islamic practice (e.g., prayer times, Quran text, supplications) are for informational and devotional support only. For religious or legal questions, please consult qualified scholars or professionals.

Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle data. In guest mode, we do not collect or store your journal or spiritual data on our servers. Please read the Privacy Policy for full details.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, and software (excluding content you create and third-party materials such as Quran text used under appropriate licenses), is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the App or these Terms. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim (or, if you paid nothing, zero).

Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. We will indicate material changes to the Terms by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining parts remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
